Pretty Bubble Jars In 4 Simple Steps

　Pretty jars of bubbles with heart-shaped wands add a whimsical handmade touch to your wedding day. Hand them out before your ceremony starts with a note attached asking guests to blow bubbles as you walk back down the aisle with your new hubby. Here Debra Norton from Vintage Paper Parade explains the four simple steps to creating these personalized bubble jars.

　　What You’ll Need

　　• Small glass jars

　　• Bubble solution (either store-bought or homemade)

　　• Ribbon or baker’s twine

　　• 8-10” pieces of 20-gauge jewellery wire

　　• Jewellery pliers

　　• Japanese Washi tape (optional)

　　To Make Your Own Bubble Solution

　　• Glycerin

　　• Dishwashing detergent

　　Mix one part detergent with 10 parts water and 1-2 tablespoons of glycerin (available in most drug stores and will make the bubbles last longer)

　　Example: ½ cup dishwasher detergent, 5 cups water plus 1-2 tbsp. glycerin

Step One: Your wire should already be cut into 8- to 10-inch sections. Take a section of wire and twist one end into small circle leaving a small dip at top.
　　Tip: Make sure you form your circle to fit inside your jar.

　　

　　Step Two: Pinch the top with pliers to form heart shape.

　　

　　Step Three: Twist the remaining wire below the heart shape to form the wand.

　　

　　Tip: Ensure you twist the ends tightly so there are no sharp ends.

I agree with the previous comment to have a plan three months before. I used a daily spf to keep my skin from damage from the sun and got a consult on what type of skincare I should be using for my skin. I spent the extra money on a good skin care regime and it made a big difference. I also went for a monthly facial and had my last one the week before the wedding. My makeup was soft and matched my skintone so nothing glaring on my skin. I also purchased a body brush and would use to help exfoliate the skin on my back and front due to wearing a strapless dress-I didn’t want to have too many bumps showing, and I also did a partial body polish a few days before to ensure that my skin looked clear. Of course, I didn’t have a lot of money and made the best of what I could afford to do.

Don’t over do it! I started into a self created beauty plan about 3 months before the wedding with daily exfoliation using a clarisonic brush and face wash and cream and silver fiber face cloths and this and that… by 6 weeks before the big day I was a mess and fully red/broken out! I went to a skin care professional who set me up with some simple Dermalogica products and told me to stop bugging my skin so much and within 2 weeks it had calmed down and was more vibrant and happy then ever before! Use this product, it really honestly works and is worth every penny! I have flawless wedding photos as proof :)

Bridesmaids Favourites from Fall 2011

5 Hot Bridal Fashion Trends for 2012

　　Are you planning a 2012 wedding? We asked James Fang, owner of the White on White bridal collection what trends he’s loving for the coming year. Keep your eyes peeled for these hot trends when you hit the shops:
　　1. Sexy Structure. According to Fang, most brides are still loving strapless styles, which means an impeccable fit is paramount—there’s nothing worse than a bride hiking up her gown all day. To that end, White on White’s latest gowns have more built-in (hidden!) structure to ensure you are lifted and cinched in all the right places.
　　2. 3-D Beading. Brides can’t get enough elaborate, dramatic beading, says Fang. At White on White, ribbons, rosettes, pearls and crystals are all incorporated by hand. The “Valentina” gown with its blinged-out bodice (see photo above) is a perfect example of this hot trend.
　　3. Luxurious Lace. Thanks in part to Kate Middleton’s lovely lace wedding dress, this traditional bridal fabric is having a major moment. Indeed, Fang has noticed more brides asking for lace accents. Speaking of which, a little bit of lace on the bodice of your dress is a great way to incorporate this trend if you don’t want to embrace it wholeheartedly (à la Kate’s full-length sleeves).
　　4. Two-in-one Looks. Want to switch up your outfit for the reception? You’re not alone. Fang says more and more brides are asking for gowns with removable trains and straps, as well as dresses with matching boleros and jackets. This is a budget-friendly trend if ever I saw one—why buy two dresses when you could have one that does double duty?
　　5. Tulle Accents. Tulle is the ultimate girly fabric, and it’s big for 2012—literally! Look for ballgowns with massive layered skirts and fluffy ruffles galore, says Fang.

1. Do not take off your shoes until your chinese wedding ceremony is over.
2. The bride and groom will first enter the groom's family home under the pants of the groom's unmarried elder brother.
3. Parents are served tea before grandparents at the chinese wedding tea ceremony.

4. The bride must change clothes before her home visit to symbolize the passage of 3 days.

5. A whole roast pig with tail is given to the bride's family at the bride's home visit to declare that she was a virgin before marriage.

You are having your chinese wedding soon and everyone start telling you bits and pieces of chinese wedding customs and traditions.
Some sound like they are just pulling your leg and some are just downright silly. You are not sure which you want to believe and follow, and which to chuck out.
May be your Mum is not very convincing either, she is probably calling up all her friends and relatives to check with them what to do.

Well... it was just as confusing and amusing during my wedding, my brothers' wedding and my cousins' weddings.
Are we losing our chinese heritage and culture? I have 2 little kids and I would like them to be able to appreciate and enjoy their heritage when it is time for their weddings. So this is my little contribution to preserving our chinese wedding culture.

I have decided to put down all that I know of chinese wedding as my effort in helping to preserve some chinese heritage and culture. I have interviewed my mum, mum-in-law, aunts and relatives, researched at museums, read books and trawled the web for chinese wedding traditions and customs, and their significance.
I blended these with the practical aspect of organising a chinese wedding, such as the recommended timeframe, the items and persons needed to perform the various ceremonies and rituals.
Do continue to write, although having gone back to a fulltime job which keeps me very busy but happy, my response might not be as prompt as I would like to be. Be patient with me.
