Go beyond typical place cards and impress your guests with this whimsical
homemade version instead. Inspired by midsummer garden parties, these potted
place cards are a unique way to add a little DIY to your wedding day.

What you’ll need:
• Crafting moss
• Styrofoam balls
• Terracotta pots
• Butterflies
• Wooden stir sticks
• Ribbon and/or twine
• Place cards
• Glue gun

Step One
Cut out your place card tags and fold them in half. Set aside for later.

Step Two
Wrap the wooden stir sticks in ribbon and/or twine, leaving an area uncovered at the bottom for gluing later.
Tip: Work ahead on these with your mister while watching your favourite DVD.

Step Three
Take one Styrofoam ball and slice it in half. Place one half, rounded side down, in the bottom of the terracotta pot. Then glue a full Styrofoam ball onto the flat edge making sure it is secure.

Step Four
Remove the moss from the package, gently separating it. Begin gluing it on in small bunches, completely covering the Styrofoam ball.

Step Five
Add your butterfly detail.

Step Six
Affix your place cards to the wooden stir sticks, place them into the back
of the terracotta pots and you’re done.
To present your DIY place cards, cluster them together on a gorgeous wooden
table or heavy linen cloth (even burlap!) and your guests are sure to be
impressed.
